Erin's practice is concentrated in domestic and international patent prosecution and preparation, including serving as a U.S. associate for foreign-originating patent work by way of the Paris Convention, PCT national phase and bypass route filings. The technical areas with which she primarily works include telecommunications and networking, computer architecture, electronics, semiconductors, gaming, software, medical devices, business methods and mechanical systems. Erin has additional intellectual property experience in filing and prosecuting trademark applications.

Industry/Academic Experience

Prior to law school, Erin worked for 3M Company in the Electronic Materials Applied Research laboratories of 3M. In that capacity, she processed and tested flexible integrated circuit chips. During law school, Erin's coursework emphasized intellectual property protection, and she served as the financial officer of the Student Intellectual Property Law Association. She gained courtroom experience through volunteering with the Minnesota AIDS Project and as a judicial intern for the Minnesota District Court.

Professional Activities

Erin is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) and the Minnesota Intellectual Property Law Association (MIPLA). She also volunteers her time with various legal, civil, and non-profit organizations, and has assisted with adult literacy programs.
