Rebecca has experience in patent drafting and prosecution primarily in the fields of telecommunications, biomedical systems and devices, solid state devices, disk drive technology, excavation equipment and control systems, subsurface geophysical imaging systems, semiconductor manufacturing technology, large scale computing systems, and mechanical systems. Licensed to practice before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office Education B.S., Electrical Engineering, University of Minnesota, Twin Cities Industry/Academic Experience While completing her Master’s degree, Rebecca helped to develop Java machine learning code based on genetic programming techniques. She developed software that used data mining procedures to classify data in a DNA microarray dataset. Rebecca developed code to detect abnormalities in brain MRI images using image processing techniques. For her senior design Electrical Engineering project, Rebecca helped develop a pacing pulse generator for a dual chamber bradycardia pacemaker including analyzing components and designing circuitry. She also helped to design an in vivo spinal stability tester for her Biomedical Engineering Senior design project. Professional Activities Rebecca volunteers as a Program Assistant for LILA (Low Income Legal Assistance) Law, a non-profit organization providing technical and mentoring support for volunteer attorney teams serving low income immigration clients. Rebecca is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) and the Minnesota Intellectual Property Law Association (MIPLA). . |
